Done, you can put the knitting needles away. And I suppose I'd better get exercising.
Gemmzie, I've had it nearly two years, put on a bit of weight when I first got it but I think that should have settled by now - I still don't entirely like the thing though. You have got a point about relationships making you eat more too!Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
So now just to work out why I feel.. a) kind of disappointed and b) really quite sick.Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0

I'm right with you on the disappointed thing, had a similar worry myself about a month ago. I think it's easy to get carried away with the excitement of the prospect, but I know for me, it's not the right time and the relief settled in eventually.
Hope you stop feeling sick soon xxNo longer using this account for new posts from 20130 -
I'm sorry Squizz - sounds like you were hoping for a positive, even if you weren't actively trying .... feeling sick - well, one of the bugs thats going round has sickness involved, are you maybe fighting it off?

Thanks xx I know logically it's not quite the right time - especially as while we have talked about it, we haven't talked in terms of timescales. There's lots of things (i.e. no debt, better work arrangements) that would ideally be in place first. But yes, I guess I was excited at the prospect.
The sickness could well be a bug, I don't really get 'sicky' very often - stomach of steel meDebt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
Oh it was a bit funny - I deliberately went to a chemist away from work for the test (there's a Boots just across the road but there's nearly always someone from work in there). Was standing in the queue and spotted someone from my office at the shelves right next to me - *panic* quick dash across the shop to another till!Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0

Oh poo!
Ah well the disappointment just goes to show that it's something you're going to have to talk about and get some time scales sketched out for.
I don't know anything about the implant but I assume you have to have it replaced every few years? Do you need a set time without it before it's advisable to try to conceive? All things that need to be factored into the bigger picture.
I thought I'd stopped being broody but it seems I'm just transfering it to others instead"Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
They last for three years Pooky, and they are one of the only forms of contraception that you are immediately fertile again when it's removed.
See I learn at workHehe

What Gemmzie said
What is your job again Gemmzie?
Mine is due to be taken out next March, and I'm not sure I'd want it replaced, whether I try something else or.. not. But yes we need to talk about it. There are things I'd really like to have in place first, which are aims for me anyway, like being able to work partly from home. And being healthier and fitter, so time to get that sorted properly. At least I now know what our maternity leave/ pay policy is. Still feel a bit deflated, but strangely, less queasy today.
Freeeezing here this morning! Looking forward to the weekend - now we've got the car working again we might get out in the Peaks or something for a walk. I've done the OU chapter I allocated myself for the week but got some background reading to catch up on, and some stuff to do for second job which I've not been able to fit in this week.
Ohh we spent last night looking at hotels in Paris, have shortlisted a few within our price range.. Mr S had been looking at some at work and his colleague commented on one that he couldn't possibly take me there because it was scruffy! I absolutely loved the look of it - really quirky with mad wallpaper and the most amazing rickety old stairs. Clearly, people think I'm classier than I am
Later on we looked at some ridiculously expensive ones with levitating beds and cowhide bathtubs.. tempting to save up for a year or so for a night in one of them! :rotfl:Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
Yay to levitating beds! Yay also to a walk in the Peak District - that can start the getting fitter campaign, as well as being lovely in its own right.2023: the year I get to buy a car0
