I used to be a manager at ASDA and that is shocking, even though the event has gone you should write to ASDA House in Leeds and tell them, you don't need to exaggerate but tell the story and tell them how mortified you were ( I imagine you were) If I was your daughter I would never shop there again and you need to tell them that.
It is scandalous, honestly even if you are not bothered about getting money, that colleague needs to be spoken to about her CS skills she is obviously a liability and quite fankly should be dealt with.
Please contact. Co's can't fix things if they don't know about them.

policy changed since I left but it is money back for difference and £2 gift card as a goodwill gesture.
But the more you kick off the more you get, ( like everywhere else tese days) you can ask for compensation for your petrol for having to bring the product back, but these payments are discretionary and it depends on the experience of the CS colleague. If in doubt as to speak to the CS manager/duty manager or if you are really fuming the GSM. Managers are able to give more than colleagues.

My philosophy is they shouldnt advertise these refunds if they are not going to honour them.0 -
I bought some yoghurts on BOGOF, but was charged full price for both. I complained and only got the price of one pack of yoghurts back. I wish I knew about the £2 gift card then, but I'll remember it for future! Here I go again on my own....0

I started this post so I'll give an update. I didn't get the £2 voucher so I emailed Asda and received an apology and a £5 voucher. They didn't ask for my receipt but took my word that I hadn't been offered the voucher." The greatest wealth is to live content with little."

Sometimes its just good to write a nasty letter to ASDA Customer Services at their Head Office.

Once during New Year, our ASDA's incompentant Store Manager was making budget cuts and so wanted the Xmas to New Year week and the week after to close every day at 6pm thinking that no-one would come.
At the last minute he reaslised otherwise, but because staff need time to sign up for overtime, there were queues and queues.
What annoyed me was that queues were opened - I followed the end of a queue, waited for 30 minutes and just when the lady got to me, she shut the till and myself and all the other people behind me got plenty !!!!!! off.
To top it off, the lady got off the till and went chatting to one of the supervisors that run the checkouts - just a normal chit chat.
Wasn't happy at all, but didn't want to get confrontational in the store.
I knew the name of the lady that served me (or rather didn't serve me) - good thing people have name badges in stores!
Wrote a very nasty letter to Customer Services specifically naming her - got a £5 voucher. Actually didn't care about the voucher - just wanted to name and shame the lady as she stole 30 minutes or more of my life.
