Vegetarian pate

Hi, I would like to try making a vegetarian pate for my daughter. I got a food processor last week but I haven't used it yet, will be trying it out tomorrow.

I have a tin of red kidney beans, tinned tomatoes, onions, garlic, vegetable oil, carrots, red pepper, frozen runner beans.

Does anybody have a recipe I could try using any of these ingredients?

Thank you.

  • Hi I don't have a specific recipe for what you have but if it was me I would fry some onion, then add in some red pepper and some garlic. Once that was soft I would put it with the drained kidney beans into the processor and just give it a quick whirl. It depends on how smooth you want it to be I like my pate rough. If it is too runny you could add some oats or breadcrumbs to dry it out a little. When I am making kidney bean burgers I flavour the mixture with soy sauce.
