The first question that i would ask myself is what have I been doing all these years. Secondly i am more or less in the same boat. Thirdly would you consider factory work and fourthly Do you have any physical disablities because of your age ?"if the state cannot find within itself a place for those who peacefully refuse to worship at its temples, then it’s the state that’s become extreme".Revd Dr Giles Fraser on Radio 4 20170

It might be worth contacting Shaw trust or remploy to get advice, and if you have not already done so find out about getting a basic literacy and numeracy qualification this will greatly improve your chances of finding work."It's nice to be important but it's more important to be nice." :T0

Hi- I agree with this and can recommend Learn Direct which have some brilliant courses particularly English and Maths and btw I am the same age as you! Good luck!0 -
So you have already a lot of experience in the agricultural sector and could possibly get a job as a nurses auxillary. However speaking as someone with arthritis - realistically can you really do these labour intensive jobs with your physical disability ?"if the state cannot find within itself a place for those who peacefully refuse to worship at its temples, then it’s the state that’s become extreme".Revd Dr Giles Fraser on Radio 4 20170

You do have work experience, it was just within your own family, but it's there. The jobcentre can help you with you CV if you ask. So far you've had two very challenging jobs, from which you have skills and experience, and you are obviously reliable.
Just a quick idea; B&Q have (well, had, before the age discrimination laws came in) a deliberate policy of employing older people who have been round the block a bit and know what they are talking about and are able to give customers sensible advice. You'd probably do well to apply to them.Cash not ash from January 2nd 2011: £2565.:j
OU student: A103 , A215 , A316 all done. Currently A230 all leading to an English Literature degree.
Any advice given is as an individual, not as a representative of my firm.0
