Asda mince smaller packs!

I spotted minced beef in Asda last night on 2 for £5, was about to pick two up when I realised that the packs were now 400g not 500g! They had the lean steak mince on the offer to and they are still 500g packs so I got two of them.

Are all the supermarkets going to be cutting the pack sizes and once again they are trying to be sneaky with the same deals but we get less for our money! :eek:

    The alternative would be the old size packs at a higher price which you would no doubt complain about too.

    I've noticed a few of these. Don Simon orange juice was £1 for a litre - this week the bottle is 750ml.

    While I obviously wouldn't be happy I would find it easier to accept if they kept the sizes the same.

    We all know there is rampant inflation at the moment, with no signs of it getting any better unless we start eating those air tickets and televisions, and so a price rise is inevitable. This however just smacks of the companies trying to 'put one over' the consumer. Especially annoying when you have to buy more packs to get the quantity you want but then having waste (if for example a recipe calls for 500g)

    Prices go up but to start giving us less product for more money means its getting harder to feed a family in times when things are tight already.

    I would rather they put the price up as my recipes are based on 500g units.

    Quick sum... 800 grams =1.75lbs
    therefore:
    1.75lbs = £5
    Therefore:
    1lbs=£2.85

    My local butcher offers mince meat at £2.74 a lb every day... screw you supermarkets!
