HI,
I had some debt from years ago which I have recieved letters from Lowell portfolio and others.
I believe the debts are too old for them to be chasing and want to know how to reply to them to tell them to leave me alone.
Does anyone know of any template lletters avaialbe?
Thanks

Hi, welcome
First to these letters you would send the prove it letter http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=11570893&postcount=2. Then if they prove you owe the money (and that they can collect it) if you think they are statute barred you would send the SB letter. Even if a debt is SB they can still chase you for it until you send a letter to say you know its SB and do not intend to pay.
To be statute barred you need to have not anything towards the debt for 6years, or acknowledged the debt in writing for 6years and for there to be no CCJ for the debt.
