But it's all the same company names that keep coming up: Capquest, HL Solicitors, ScotCall, Welcome finance, Blair, Oliver & Scott...

When you first start to get letters from them you think you are the only person in the world who is in this situation but it's reassuring to come on here and know that so many other people are in the same situation and we all get the same letter!

You wuuld think that these companies would wise up and realise that people aren't going to stand for the empty scare mongering in these letters.

It's becuase some people do that the letters still go on and on. From a DCA point of view, if you can get 1 person per 100 to pay £100 for a debt they don't know is theirs that cost the company £20 to buy, they've made a £80 profilt....and since we know it's not 1, more like 10, or 20.....that's how they make their cash!

They must be making money otherwise they wouldent do it. 2 years ago I knew nothing, now I try and offer advice. I am trying to dig up old bailiff charges for parking fines and will try and reclaim the unfair charges back as I know better now.

BUT there are still people out there who only turn for help when the S**t hits the fan rather than prevent the issues and nipping it in the bud from the start.

And many more who know no different.
