I want to buy a SAD Lamp

Its getting darker and darker in an evening and in a morning. I really want to buy a SAD Lamp as I know what is coming.
Can anyone recommend a cheaper one that has worked for them? Some of the ones at the recommended light strength are so expensive.
Thanks in advance.

This one gets good reviews and costs £49 including delivery from Amazon.

I am also considering purchasing one of these and read through the reviews on Amazon - seems that everyone is positive about this one.
Thanks for the post and link.0 -

Me too
They can be expensive
I nearly got this until I read the review

I've realised that the reason it is so much cheaper than other SAD lights is that it doesn't resynthesize the mains frequency to alleviate flicker, so while the lamps that cost 3 or 4 times as much as this put out about the same amount of light they don't noticeably flicker because they contain electronics that shift the flicker outside of our range of perception. Sitting a foot away from this you can REALLY see it flickering, which is a bit straining on the eyes. Still, if you can't afford a more expensive lamp then this is a very good compromise, and even with the flicker it's better than not having it.0 -
I got mine from Tchibo. It was about £40. It defintely works for me. I can't say I consciously feel different but when I use it regularly I get much more done instead of moping about.0

I was very fortunate to be given this http://www.lumie.com/shop/products/bodyclock-sunray .
It is a bedside clock type which wakes me in the morning. I think it makes a difference to me. Not a cure-all but definately a help along with other measures.Healthy eating aim per day: 3 fruits, 3 or more vegetables, 3 low-fat dairy portions, 3 starch portions, 2-3 lean protein portions.
Weekly aim: to include 2 portions of fish (one oily), some nuts, seeds, beans and pulses.0
