Just a warning...

A day or two ago I entered a competition on Bongal/Bongel or similar. Sorry quite remember what it was called exactly. But when i tried to enter my details on the Bongal site it all went a bit funny and basically my form didnt seem to go through properly - didnt think much of it and just mvoed on to entering a different comp - however today I have received numerous messages in my email saying someone has sent me a message on Bongal/Bongel/whatever but when ive clicked on the link to read my messages it wont let me as password/login details incorrect (Roboform). I ignored it really until I suddenly recieved a weird message again from Bongal/Bongel and as i again went to click to open it ro see what this one said, suddenly my email account closed up and a message popped up saying my account was now blocked due to suspicious activity in my email. I now cant open my email or even send a query form through to the email company (Google) as it keeps coming up as failed to send.

I am certain it is connected to the weird site.

I entered that same competition today with no problems. However, it is a social networking type site so I did have to go back into my profile details and check nothing was being made public that I didnt want the world to know. I did get a couple of messages from other members wanting to contact me but just ignored them.

I have also had a high volume of email today from this site and when I go into site there are no messages there to read. You can't seem to change details once registered and doesn't seem to be anywhere to remove your details, I did find this though

I've now sent them an email, telling them I want my details removed so we'll see if it happens, but for now I'm going to block their emails from coming through and hopefully they'll get the message

I entered a competition a few weeks back for this site, it turned out it was the sites owner who had posted it on here, it was removed but I had already entered by then, I get regular spam emails that people have sent me messages and to log on and cannot find a way to remove myself!!

Bongal and its owners have since tried to post this 'comp' of theirs several more times and been removed - my advice, don't enter!!

Can't seem to delete my profile from there either, all I get is junk messages every day!!

I have to agree about avoiding, I have had so many emails from them its driving me mad. Tried to change my details today but couldn't. Let us know if you hear back freefan. Didn't think of blocking them, I'll try that thanks.

If you log in and go to your profile and click edit, you can hide most of your details. The only thing that you cant hide is your username, City and first name. You do have to click to hide your surname, date of birth and sexuality or they will be public!

Then, if you click on messages, on the right of the page there are 2 boxes, one for email subscription and one for recieving emails from others. If you uncheck both of those, the emails should stop.

Result!! emailed them yesterday at the addy posted above, just asking for my account to be closed due to receiving excessive emails and they emailed back today with this

Thank you, i've just been in and hidden most my details, changed a few other and unticked all the notification boxes.

After reading freefan01's post I emailed the admin address in the post and also had a reply saying I had been unsubscribed!! Yippee!!

I did this as well today, they came back quite quickly saying they had deleted my account
