Ah, but who wants to be average.

Maybe aspiring to be something other than average got me in this mess ;)

somebody's gotta explain this to me, do they mean all debt as in loans, overdrafts, credit cards and cars etc or just what we owe the tick man?

    :rotfl:

    haha

In answer to your earlier question, I think it was for all unsecured debt.

Don't understand this though as I'm sure I recently read that it was more like 11k per household.

Maybe this site is the reason for the decrease!

ss where have you been if i don't get my daily fix of you and a few others i start to shake....
  • I'm nearly 10 times the average in debt terms too then!!

    Quote from the BBC Site:
The average British resident owes £3,175, business research firm Datamonitor said. The report, which looks at the market for borrowing via personal loans, hire purchase, credit cards and overdrafts in 16 European countries, said that the UK had an "insatiable appetite for credit".

So that's what it looks at. But as someone said on another thread abut this (possible merge, anyone?) does this take into account everyone in Britain, i.e all our millionaires?

If they looked at just everyone who had a debt and averaged those people's debts out, maybe the figure would be higher.

  • Apparently the average debt for a UK person is now over £3,000! So that means I'm nearly 10 times bigger than average! :p

Get over yourself, you're only 8 and a half times larger than average. Any bigger and it'd probably hurt ;) :rotfl:

I'm 6 x average. I like to think that I have altruistically taken on the debt share of 5 other people just so they don't need to be in debt. Now, how do I give it back...?
