Hi was going to jump on someones else's thread but decided to start my own! I'm 2 more payments from being debt free (1 loan left now) and my ability to live on a shoe string seems to have left me and I'm a little worried now...
For about 6 months I lived on £100 "pocket money" a month, it was tight but I managed then 2 months ago I paid off my last od & I had a rise in disposible income & things seem to have gone to pot
Admitedly its been an expensive month, my ds' 18th birthday, dentist, we go on holiday on wed (financed by having foreign students all throughout the summer so the actually holiday, acomm & flights, only cost us £50). But also am spending a little each day...
I've overspent by about £100 this month, this hasn't increased my debt but has reduced my overpayments & predicted savings. & I'm a little worried about my lack of discipline in the final furlong.
Is this normal? or am I in trouble????
Thanks for reading! x

sorta .. yer ... you've lived on such a tight budget that knowing thats coming to an end you've swung the other way .. its trying to find the balance, living within your means and expecting the unexpected just remember how tight things were and how you never want to get like that again and you'll get it

Still searching .....:)

Short for demobilisation - the process of letting a serviceman out of the army.determined_new_ms wrote: »what's demob???
Actually, what has happened with your expenditure is fairly normal. You have borrowed from the 'now' to pay off your debts. We have been fortunate enough never to be in debt, but we have had times where we have had to be very tight with our money. You find that you borrow from the now by not buying new clothes, bedding, towels etc and many other things. When the money is available again, you have some catch up to do. So the anticipated spare cash does not materialise immediately
You need to let it happen a bit, but equally you need to keep on top of it. Budgetting was a must during the lean times - but you need to carry on in the same mindset and just budget for your release from debt. You need to list the things you held back on and prioritise dealing with them.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. ah thanks
its been an expensive month but next I'll have to prioritise my spending again & take action like leaving my purse at home on days when I don't need things. I've been so excited about saving & now I'm just spending!
need to be kind to myself as well xDF as at 30/12/16
