  • thanks Sammy xxxx(have you read the Zen to be done book?)

I have my goals written on on paper by my bed. I am going back to reading them each night.

For now I want to focus on

    1. Paying off the debt.
    2. My Masters/Being organised at work
    3. The house
    4. Decluttering
    5. Driving.

each month I will look again at my goals and see what I think.

    night all xxx

  • New theme of the diary - especially whilst Mum is away

These are my six current goals.
    1. Paying off the debt.
    2. My Masters/Being organised at work
    3. The house(fixing stuff, fence, shed)
    4. Decluttering
    5. Driving
    6. Weight loss

Each day as Sammy (other self - help gurus are available ;) ) suggests I will do one thing towards each of them. I did this before, twice, once years ago and then again when I bought the Zen book (similar thing in Getting Things done to I am sure). Any how my point is it worked very well at keeping me focused.

My key demons are procastination and lack of organisation.

Any tips on these would be great.

    Hi Buffy,

Sounds like a very good plan. As well as working towards each goal could you have some set tasks/stages? I.e. My decluttering has been going really badly so now I am aiming to get 100 items out per week and this is broken down into about 20 per day as I can manage that a bit better.

For me, planning and creating wonderful systems is easy - The hard part is often Getting going! If you have answer on that please let me know!!!

  • Yep I can plan to Doomesday!

its the actual DOING that stumps me. For the most part I will be following the Flylady Methods especially since on Facebook, paperclutter is her habit of the month- perfect for me!

Watching Madonna in Concert. She is brilliant. Amazing woman. basket case at times but amazing none the less.

    Hiya Buffy

Sorry, I have been very lax about posting on your diary and you are always so supportive on mine.

I am, like you, afraid of failing which is why I am in the job I'm in now. It pays the bills (well, sort of - benefits pay most of them) but isn't challenging or stimulating. Teaching is such a rewarding but tough job. And the paperwork....oh my!

And don't get me started on lists and planning :)
YOUR = belonging to you (your coat); YOU'RE = you are (I hope you're ok)

really....it's not hard to understand :T

    Hiya Mateychops:wave:

We are both teachers yes? So we know how to work to a timetable.

How about drawing up a timetable for the whole week? I am currently doing some for myself both for my prep time at work and also one for home I am including Study time, housework, organisation time and even when I get up and go to bed.

I am also going to include things like
    • Walking
    • Watching TV
    • Me-time
I am wasting hours and hours of time so it's got to be worth a shot?:o
But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.
  • Scarily I printed out a routine yesterday - well more like a list(!) of things to do each day. My schedule with work varies so much that is hard to have a timetable as such.

plusI can't seem to help coming on here!

  • so sleepy

today was not good at work but I pretty much expect it now. I can keep trying to be positive but it becomes waste of energy in situations like this.

tonight tho, I hoovered the whole house, emptied the bins, cleaned kitchen, cleaned out the Gps, sorted my post (found out some fairly dreadful money news), walked for 50 mins and generally feel better about the house.

need to go to bed now.

    see you tomorrow
