Just Wish It'd Go Away

Honestly,

Yeah my debt isn't as bad as some peoples but still, its just always there in the background isn't it? Sorry just I have no one else to talk about it. I'm making steps towards paying my debt off, it's just I suppose I want a quick easy fix and I know that wont happen. Well thanks for listening lol.

Matt :)

  • It won't though will it? I'm in the same boat - not a huge amount, but wouldn't it be easier if I came into some money? Actually it won't - I'd never get that sense of achievement of working out how to pay it back, and getting rid of it, or learn how to deal with money (I'm fairly bad!)

Have you got a debt free date yet?
  • I think its good your catching this early...... you should be proud you've come this far and are sorting it out now!!!

Not at the moment. Well i mean my Smile overdraft will be gone on December 22nd and my RBS one will be gone in about Feb. I'll probably be done by June next year. I get paid every two weeks so it's a kinda drip drip sorta thing.
  • I started off feeling that way, it just seems to go so slowly. Now I have to accept it will take time and at least it is going down.

  • OK - I think I've worked mine out for June 08. However I can never be sure - I'm only on a fixed term contract with 8months remaining - I could get a nice payrise if I get a job afterwards, alternatively I could end up temping and have a huge cut, so it's paying as much as I can back for 8months and hoping
  • I'm doing loads of overtime atm which is making me knackered but i think hey every hour I do, it's a little step closer if ya get me?
  • Definitely! I don't get paid overtime otherwise I'd be more motivated to do this work on time!

Ditto. At least you got an early wake up call - people have tens of thousands in debt here and are struggling. It's hard though - whether you owe £100 or £100,000 if you haven't got it, the effect is the same. It must also be hard to be able to see the end of the road in sight but you can't get there quick enough - like the carrot on the stick trick. I'd be feeling really impatient especially with the season of good spending nearly on us.
You're doing really well - be proud of yourself! Good luck
