We've just kitted out our son for Uni at Wilko's. Once the wrappers come off non of the 'rich kids' will be able to tell where the stuff is from!
No seriously, I buy so much there, bin bags, tin foil, toiletries, knitting wool and so much more.
I have been buying their saving stamps from the checkout tills £10 at a time (when I've saved on the numerous offers in the store. BOGOF's etc.).
Be warned they sometimes have so many offers it's hard not to get carried away!!!!Trying to stay on the wagon with a FlyLady Daily Fix :j:j:j

I buy EVERYTHING in Wilkos - except saving stamps - didn't know they did them  .
Their plants are quite good (but check carefully!), and their quick drying filler is better than Polycell IMHO.

pms - they have no Wilko in Scotland I'm afraid.....A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

I buy lots of things from Wilkos - especially when it's BOGOF. Lots of toilet gel sitting in a cupboard at the moment !!!
Anything and everything really - toiletries, DIY stuff - I love their paint, plastic tubs for batch cooking.
and slightly hijacking the thread - in Tesco by me they have been doing £1 items - hand towels, paintbrushes, pens, notebooks etc. so it could be worth looking there for some things.0 -
I love Wilkos !!
we buy dog treats, toiletries, washing powder, loads of things !!Just owe Dad £2500 for a new car

Paid off car loan 22nd August 2009. :T0 -
We've got a Brabantia bin, and they used to have the bin liners cheap, plus on a three for two offer. They didn't have it last time I looked, which is a shame. I like it for sticker books and craft stuff for the kids. And they have loads of cheap photo frames.0

Absolutely everything, particularly toiletries, which are a fraction of the price of those in the Boots next door to my local Wilkinson's, and back-to-school stationery, again considerably cheaper than W.H Smith over the road. I once decorated my entire house over a period of several months and got everything I needed to do it from Wilko - paint, lampshades, bedding, accessories - the lot. Even now it amazes me that you can walk into Wilko with the most diverse shopping list imaginable and come out with everything on it.
Much as I like Wilko, I could do without the weird arrangement of aisles in my local branch, as well as the depressing 'my honey dropped dead before she spent all my money and the dog's just got done for drink-driving' sort of music they always seem to be playing. I love to shop there, but if I had to work on the checkout and listen to that all day I'd probably have slit my wrists by lunchtimeEek! Someone's stolen my signature! :eek:0 -
Went into Wilko's (Hitchin) for the first time on Friday. Selling (or at least trying to, grrrrr) the flat and needed a few things. Bin bags, rubber gloves, got some air freshener thingys and some other stuff. Erm..scourers! Yes, thats it!
Anyway, it really does look like you could ferret out some very good stuff in there. I was in a hell of a rush (spent 7 straight hours cleaning and rearranging), so didn't have a lot of time.
Are the savings that significant? And if so, why?
You know what though? Even when I have paid everthing off, have got out of rented accomodation and have a mortgage again and am active in the Mortgage-free wannabee forums...I? am still totally going to be looking out for the bargains at Wilko's! It just leave me with a glow0
