Genuine ipod headphones for a reasonable price please?

Hi moneysavers,

Does anybody know where I can buy ipod headphones for a reasonable price? My puppy chewed mine up when I wasn't looking so I need some more! I was quite shocked to find they are almost £25 in Tesco!

I'm not entirely sure what model ipod I have but I THINK it's an original white 2GB ipod nano from 2005 - I don't think it's 2nd, 3rd or 4th generation etc. The headphones available to buy now seem to have a mic and volume control on them but my ipod does not support those features. Obviously I don't want to pay more for features that won't work! I just want plain, bog standard white ipod headphones like the ones my ipod came with but I can't find them anywhere. The M&S ones Coopdivi pointed out were on my list of possibilities but when I read the small print on the M&S website it says only for use with 2nd generation ipods onwards. Really disappointed

Does anyone else know where I can buy 'normal' ipod headphones without all the extra bits? Thanks in advance.

I bought some last month from ebay... it was an auction and I got them for £4.39... brand new and came in original box etc.

I've read quite a lot about apple headphones (I need to get out more, lol) and apparently there are a LOT of fakes out there. I was hoping to be able to buy them somewhere other than ebay or amazon as there is no way of knowing where the so called cheap headphones have come from. Thanks for the suggestions though. Any other ideas anyone?

I've never got on with the Apple headphones, and have a white set which I'd be happy to send to you for free. They look brand new, work perfectly, and would have come either with my iPod Classic from 2006 or Shuffle from 2007. PM me if you're interested.

Buy some decent headphones. the cx300's are really good. Have a read up on some reviews, they all seem to say that the ipod headphones are not very good.

Thank you everyone for your help. I know apple headphones are not the best in the world, but the ones I had suited me really well and sounded great to me! I want my new ones to sound just as good as the ones I had and be compatible with my ipod. I wouldn't know where to start buying good quality headphones but I know some of the cheap ones sound dreadful!

You should really try another pair. Just to try. The apple ones sound ok but they are not good.
I would recommend you have a look at www.soundwise.co.uk earphones. They let you try risk free for 14 days. They are much better value than most earphones I have seen. If you do REALLY want the ipod ones cos you don't like change (even for the better;-)) then send me a PM I can maybe send you my old ones for free. I think they are in a drawer somewhere.
