I think I know the answer but I'm not certain;)
Kelloggs will be your woman for this.
Does the family receive any WTC?0 -
Thats the problem with all things CSA related.Nobody is certain of the answers!
I doubt they get WTC. And i think it's just 3 adults wages they look at but not sure at all.0 -
I know that but I don't want to give duff info (even tho I'm pretty certain I'm sure!!)
Kelloggs knows CS1 like the back of her hand and she will honestly be the best person for the answer.0 -

I'm on CSA 1, my partner moved in a few months ago. I called the CSA and his salary would only be taken into account if we had children together. As we didn't I didn't have to give his information, it's just recorded as 'living with partner'.
Not sure why this is, sounds a bit daft, but that's the CSA for you!Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0 -
If the PWC and their new partner has children together, then the income for the partner is needed to calculate how much child allownace to give to the PWC in the exempt income - either all or half. If there are no children together, then the partner income is not used. However, an NRP can apply for a variation on the grounds that the new PWC partner can contribute towards housing costs which apply. However again, if there is WTC being paid, it won't work as the PWC will be deemed to have no assessable income.0

Thanks for that kelloggs. I understand what your saying but how can i tell if PWC partner's wage was taken into account? I asked for the CSA to look at that when they started asking for my wifes wage slips.0

By looking at the child allowances given to the PWC. Currenly, per child the allowance is £57.57 per week. The child for whom maintenance is being claimed for gets the full allowance, so if there are more children in their household then the PWC would get £57.57 per child, or if the partner was deemed able to contribute towards the cost of their care, it would be half that amount. Even if the allowances are given in full, it does not necessarily mean they haven't used the income - just that the income was not enough to reduce the amount given to the PWC.0
