Hello everyone a010.gif. Welcome to the weekly spend challenge. This challenge is open to anybody, no matter what financial place they are in.

On this thread please post an amount of money you wish to stay below within the week (Sunday to end of working day on Friday). This can be pennies or thousands it depends on the individual. Then next Saturday report back and pledge for the following week. Feel free to update this thread with daily spends if that keeps you on track. We colour code the results as below:

Green - within budget
Red - overbudget
Purple - zero spend
Yellow - made money over the week

This is a little bit of fun but for many it highlights the fact that maybe that magazine/chocolate bar isn't needed. Hopefully your spending habits can be changed forever. clapping.gif

Moozie was the founder of this challenge and here is a quote taken from her around last year

The challenge is about incidental spending and not for stuff that should be budgeted elsewhere such as bills, groceries, debt repayment etc but you decide what to include at the end - this is about changing your habits and improving your recording of your spends more than anything else. Have a great week everyone and keep it low!!! Moozie x

Good luck everyone.action-smiley-033.gif

    Evening all

I made it green last week I had a couple of pounds left at the end of Friday.

I am going for £20 this week. All well on the moneysaving front I am on track so far for the month with less than 3 weeks until holiday. I also lost 0.5lb so dieting is getting back on track slowly.

Please may I join. This week's target is £50. This is because I was extravagant yesterday before I knew of the challenge. Future totals will be a lot lower.
I have spent c. £20 already on luxuries. I've lost the receipt but I think it came to just under £20 after deducting toiletries and stamps.
  • Last week I came in at £8.75 out of the £10 I put down. :j So put me down for £10 again this week and I'll try to do even better.

I need to break this down and write down exactly what I've bought so far in order to shame myself into behaving! I have £20 each week for me to spend on whatever I want, but it seems to be disappearing with not much to show for it :( I'd like to save some up and buy new clothes, or shoes, but I seem to have a weakness... food :(

    So far I've spent:
£2.40 - chocolate bars at the garage for us all
    £1.00 - sweets in the £ shop
    £1.00 - pack of 3 gingerbread men
    £0.50 - vanilla slice
£0.58 - sausage roll for DD

    £5.48 TOTAL

Bit of a theme going on..? NEEDS TO STOP!!!

    Thank you :D

Just a small spend of 40p today on a packet of crisps, so that's £9.60 still in my pocket :).

Well done on the weight loss Pointy ;).

SazM...at that rate you'll be spent out by Thursday, suggest you only buy for yourself in future, that should allow you to have enough to cover the week and still stay in the green :rotfl:!
