Miffi's Cold Turkey....

Miffi_2
I've started my cold turkey today - my aim is to spend as little as possible and only on what is really necessary. I have given myself spending money of £5 (until Sunday) which is to cover any extra's I might want, but am going to try my best to not spend...
Today - Tuesday 12 September
£23 on petrol
That should be it for today (trying to fight temptation of going out to get a can of coke - been staring at the penny jar for too long!)

I need to get back into cold turkey, I bought a few things today I didnt NEED. ( food as usual  )
good luck:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
Thanks - going to try and regularly post on this thread to help keep myself disciplined. Fingers crossed...0

I've been cold turkey for a couple of months now - wasn't spending madly to begin with, but was buying stuff I could easily do without. It really does become second nature after a while - I'm tighter than a gnat's !!!! these days! :rotfl:0

Wednesday 13 September
£65 dentist (includes check up and xrays)
I am seriously considering joining something like Denplan as these dentist costs are just too much.
Also booked in to see hygienist next month and have two fillings. Aaarrrgh! I don't feel I can complain too much - I haven't seen the dentist in two years!0 -
Dentists costs are outrageous!
I did ask about Denplan but they told me that they had stopped recommending it to people because you weren't really getting much for your money? I have only ever had one filling so I don't know if they were saying this just for me or in general.
Good luck with your challenge think I need to take a leaf out of your book0 -

I also enquired about Denplan at one point, and was told their services are actually quite limited (lots of things not covered etc), and I'd be better off just putting aside the money in a savings account each month and paying any costs myself from that!0 -
I think most insurance plans can end up with being more expensive than paying as and when needed, and saving up for likely costs. I'd say house and contents insurance and insurance to pay a mortgage for a spouse in case of death were the only essentials I can think of right now.CCs @0% £24k Dec 05 £19,621.41 Au £13400 S 12600 Oct £11,981 £9481 £7500 Nov £7250 D £7100 Jan 6950 F £5800 Mar£5400 May £4830 June £4660 July £4460 Aug £3200, S £900, £0 18/9/07 DFW Nerd 0420
