confused? Nat west loan/dca's

Hello all,

I wonder if anyone here can advise me... to cut a long story short, I ended up with financial problems in 2005... I moved to another country in europe and managed to arrange payment plans with all debtors. I am still paying these and have never missed payments at all... The largest debt was a nat west loan that went to a dca in USA and they have received all payments up to date now... today I had a call from someone in uk, mentioning this loan and saying they had received no payments from me and they would take action against me!!! I got extremely upset, as I am up to date with payments and they refused to acknowledge the company I paid money to. They said I would hear from them by post and put the phone down... so i have no contact number - I don't know if it was nat west or a dca.
I really don't need this now, I am out of work, receiving no benefits ( as I am not entitled in this country) and just living day to day. Now I am worried what they will do? Can they take action against me in a foreign country when I have been paying evrything up to date with this other company? I have dealt with the company in usa for about 5 years, no problem. I have contacted them too. I can't think straight now... as I have been out of the loop and the uk for so long, i have no idea what to do!

Prey you have kept the receipts for the payments you have made, as yes, than chase you there aswell.
  • great - honesty is obviously not the best policy.... I know people who left the uk with debts a lot more than mine and they just walked away and 'disappeared'. I was totally honest and sorted the mess out, kept in contact and made regular payments... and 5 years on, I get some call out of the blue, saying they are taking action against me, for something I've been paying?! I do have receipts luckily and email correspondence...
