It was lovely.
I make veggie lasagne all the time so I might try your lentil one soon.
You've also given me some new brekkie ideas to try although I'm not holding out much hope. My 12 year old daughter hates breakfast and will do anything possible to not eat in the morning. :rolleyes:Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...0 -
OK I'm 35 ... and I've been veggie for about 21 years and from some previous posts that I remember we also share "past experiences" with attending festivals
.
Your recipes are ace - will try more soon. I love brown sauce too - must be HP (unless you can suggest a cheaper alternative).
One ingredient that I think you should try (if you haven't already)since you seem to enjoy chilli is chipotle chillies -they're quite spicy and really smokey - great in a lentil soup. Actually I chuck them in all sorts of recipes. Bought my stock from a great company that I spotted in a food fair called Seasoned Pioneers - they did all sorts (they were the first company beyone asian shops that I found that did tamarind paste as they do lime and curry leaves - although a lot of the supermarkets do these too now).
Grocery shopping tomorrow - so I'll be able to try more of your recipes :T0 -
Thanks GR. I will try out some of your recipes. The lasagne sounds interesting. Never made one without mince before but it sounds yummy. I'll keep an eye out for those sausages too but haven't really seen that line in the supermarket here.Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0

They're my favourites, but there are other veggie sausages, such as Quorn or Linda McCartney (do you have those?) And you can make them out of tvp mince too. There are packets to make up with egg and water but I'm not sure of the make.
Veggies: If you're careful about eggs, be careful with Quorn as some of their products have non free range eggs.May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0 -

We are all veggie. I have been veggie for 15 years, DP for 3 just over 3years. My kids are 3yrs and 21mths. I buy LMc sausages for me as they aren't meaty at all whereas DP likes the other brand which are more like real meat.
The packet mix that you add water too (sosmix) is great for homemade veggie sausage rolls. Make up half a pack of it and also half a pack of sage and onion stuffing (make sure its veggie and not animal suet). Mix them together and pop inside some puff pastry.
Veggie bean chilli is one of my favourite meals. Sometimes we have it as rice and other times I pop it in a bowl and top it with mash and cheese. I bake this in the oven, its a yummy comfort type food. bean chiili freezes very well so its an idea fast food. You can also serve it with cous cous as its quicker than rice to prepare.
Gingham, your menu is very similar to what we eat. Its nice to see veggies represented on here, LOL.Nevermind the dog, beware of the kids!0 -
Huge thanks to GR for this thread. Son and veggie DIL are coming to visit for a couple of weeks and these recipes will be so useful.
I like to use dried beans as it is so much cheaper than buying cans. Anyone know if they would freeze well if I cooked them in advance?0 -

Totally agree chipotles are gorgeous we had chipotle and roasted garlic pasta last night and it was lovely. I got hold of the sauce from Home Bargains for 29p. It adds real depth (or something) to sauces!0 -
I've not heard of them but will look out for them. Never been brave enough to try scotch bonnets!May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0

Bought some new cauldron sausages today, Mushroom and herb. Hoping to give the casserole a go with them.0
