Gingham_Ribbon wrote:I have some of the recipes still to give you. I will get to it soon. The chickpea burgers are worth the minor amount of faff of making them and the eve's pudding is scrummy although I have to jiggle about with the sugar amounts before I post it as my recipe states zero oz of sugar and I've never really measured it out! (I must have copied it out while doing something else as usual!)

Thank you for all of the lovely ideas, I can't wait to try some! I'm not shopping until a week tomorrow so I'll plan to try some of you recipes from then.
Any chance I could have your chickpea burger recipe when you get the chance? TIA x :A
p.s. I really like your new avatar0 -
Thank. I'm so glad you like the thread, and the avatar. I'll look out the burger recipe today. Totally forgot about it. I'm heavily pregnant with the memory of a very stupid fish, so if I forget please pm me and I'll get onto it!

Help please,
I just have tin of tomatoes, green lentils, garlic, carrots, green beans and peas - any suggestions pls (for tonights meal!) for a lentil cottage pie or something with rice.
Lovely thread - enjoy it and saved a lentil cottage pie recipe but now can't find it.
Thanks a lot.0 -
Hi, anna. Glad you like the thread. Sorry it's probably too late for tonight's dinner. The lentil shepherd's pie was in my other meal planner. I'll find a link for you. In the meantime, I would probably make a stew with what you have there, and an onion or leek if you have one. I'd fry up the onion with the garlic, add the lentils and sliced carrots and some stock to cover, then simmer for about half an hour, adding more stock if needed. Then I'd add the tin of tomatoes and the other veg and cook for a few more minutes until it is all tender and the sauce reduced. I'd serve with crusty bread or potatoes.May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0

The shepherd's pie is post 7.
I'm so sorry to those who were looking for the chickpea recipe all that time ago, especially Honey. I really did have the worst pregnancy memory (and my memory is shocking at the best of times.) Here it is.May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0 -
Thank you so much for the link Gingham.
I made a complete mess of making a very impoverished curry by flinging in too many chili seeds (they really had no place in the curry) - OH had to come behind me and try and rescue matters. He's a whizz at curries but tonight was my turn. In the end it was the green lentils which made the curry acceptable.
I will try your stew when I get some leeks,.
We are having to change our diet for health reasons so I look forward to trying out lots of your dishes. You have taken a lot of time and trouble to post them.
All the best for now. Anna0 -
How to roast garlic
Found this and thought I'd post it. I'm going to try using roast garlic instead of raw to see how it goes!

Aw, thank you. I know you said to pm you at the time, but I didn't want to bug you as I figured you had a lot going on!
Thank you for the recipe, I'll look forward to trying them next week.
