Also, set yourself a budget and stick to it! Maybe you could cut back on the wedding gift, I'm sure you could get, or make something nice which doesn't need to cost a lot. They'll probably get loads of stuff like toasters etc, so might appreciate something more personal, like a montage of photos in a nice album/frame, or something similar.

Have a look on www.megabus.com. It's too early yet to book for November but leave it a few weeks and you can get a return journey for £1 each way. Decent buses (double decker coach) with a loo. For a quid each way you can't grumble ;)
Just run, run and keep on running!

Thanks guys, think I'm just going to have to look into it. I've been terrible with my money and not sure if I trust myself while I'm there to stick to a budget and it is money that I'm not sure I can find so easily...

If I can't go I'll do what lilac_lady said and just tell my friend the truth.....

I think I need to make a sacrifice for a change and maybe this is the way to start...no pain, no gain?

Yeah you have to pay your debts off but don't stop living your life while you do it!

If you have a brilliant time then it's money well spent.

I spent about £700 on my mates stag weekend and I'd do it again tomorrow. It was one of the best weekends of my life and I wouldn't swap it for the world!

    Hi Miffi

I understand your dilemma but wondering if you could set yourself a challenge to raise the money you need in a month? Perhaps by selling stuff on e-bay, doing overtime at work or taking on a bar job or babysitting for 4 weeks ? It would be a tough challenge but a real accomplishment if you could do it eh :)

My advice: go and enjoy. You may have got into debt by enjoying life too much in the past, but hen do's and stuff like this don't come up too often.

I spent about £250 on a mate's stag do, and didn't get an invite to the wedding! It was an awesome wkend with the lads, something not be missed. Doing something like that all the time would not only be too expensive, but would devalue the currency of doing it in the first place, if you see what i mean?
