Just to show all Labour MP's are not cynical

"Alistair Darling hid “good news” on the deficit from Gordon Brown until the day before his final Budget, just weeks ahead of the election, in a move that in effect left a £7bn present for his Conservative successor"

In fairness, probably a fair bit of spin going on, but the ex Marxist Darling played a blinder with the hand he was dealt.

Probably says all we need to know about what a disaster Ed Balls would be if he made it to Labour leader (and god forbid PM in 5 years time).

He should have told Gordon the facts of life years and resigned if the Brown thing refused to listen. A lot of rats are leaving the sunken ship and using the old 'I was only obeying orders' excuse!
  • Remember then that when Osborne accuses the Treasury Mandarins of fiddling the figures, the "fiddle" was that the deficit is £15bn less than forecast, and growth is higher than forecast.

(I never was good at history).

And remember that labour were willing to put short term political advantage over the countries long term interests that it was necessary for one decent man to hide them from the biggest disaster to hit this country since WW2, aka Gordon Brown.

Correction: The biggest disaster was the result of the last election which gave us Laural and Hardy in charge.

Exactly what "evidence" are you referring to?
