Hello everyone a010.gif. Welcome to the weekly spend challenge. This challenge is open to anybody, no matter what financial place they are in.

On this thread please post an amount of money you wish to stay below within the week (Sunday to end of working day on Friday). This can be pennies or thousands it depends on the individual. Then next Saturday report back and pledge for the following week. Feel free to update this thread with daily spends if that keeps you on track. We colour code the results as below:

Green - within budget
Red - overbudget
Purple - zero spend
Yellow - made money over the week

This is a little bit of fun but for many it highlights the fact that maybe that magazine/chocolate bar isn't needed. Hopefully your spending habits can be changed forever. clapping.gif

Moozie was the founder of this challenge and here is a quote taken from her around last year

The challenge is about incidental spending and not for stuff that should be budgeted elsewhere such as bills, groceries, debt repayment etc but you decide what to include at the end - this is about changing your habits and improving your recording of your spends more than anything else. Have a great week everyone and keep it low!!! Moozie x

Good luck everyone.action-smiley-033.gif

    Evening all

Apologies I have started the thread so late as I have been away for the weekend. I was red last week and I am pleding £40 for this week. This needs to cover a night out on Thursday and train fare to Edinburgh to visit my friend.

I have updated the first post let me know if I have missed anything.

Whoops! I forgot to update you on my past week's spends, other than budgeted stuff. It was... £4.27. Rather pleased :)

Spent £2.56 today in tesco for milk and stuff for work but I used luncheon vouchers from a survey so no spends to declare so far.

Spent £1.05 yesterday on library fines  started using a new library, they have a very antiquated computer system, which prevents you from renewing online if the item is requested (previous library gave you 3 days if book was requested so you could get it back without incurring fines) anyway managed to get to the library yesterday to pay my fine and return the book to find out it was no longer needed by anybody else  Shouldn't moan really as the amount of books we borrow would cost a fortune to buy.

Ugh. Well I've blown my weekly target of £10. Yesterday I was taken I'll at work and there was no way I could walk to/from the train stations to get home, so I had to use taxis (and that was bad enough). So that was £12 gone in one day.

Ah well, such is life... Not at work today, recuperating. Quite frankly, no temptation at all to spend money on any food or anything at all...
