Is the purpose of the card to give discounts everytime you use the trains or does it give you free travel?

    Thanks

Between 5th July and 1st August 2010, visit the Family & Friends Railcard site and get 50% off a 12 month Family & Friends Railcard by entering the code: Mail50

Get a 1/3 off adult and 60% off kids’ fares across Britain for a year. So you’re paying around £1 a month for some epic savings. If you travel with a child between five and 15 years old then you’re eligible.

    Small Print

    Using your Railcard

With your Railcard, you’ll save on both long and short trips. Better still, you can use it anytime on weekends, Public Holidays and during the week. However, you won’t be able to get a Railcard discount when traveling in the peak time Monday to Friday within London and the South East (except Bank Holidays).
The times of morning off-peak services do vary by route, so it’s best to check with ticket office staff before buying your tickets. If you travel regularly before 10 am within London and the South East, a weekly or monthly season ticket may be more appropriate for you.

    The Savings

Your Family & Friends Railcard will save you 1/3 off adult fares and 60% off kids’ fares on loads of tickets, including all Standard Anytime, Off-Peak and Advance fares across the National Rail network.

    Eligibility

You’re eligible to buy a Family & Friends Railcard if you travel with a child who is five to 15 years old. The good news is that up to 4 adults and 4 kids can travel on one Railcard – and they don’t even need to be related.

Any two adults can be named Railcard holders.

All kids under 5 travel free - and each adult may take up to two 'under fives' with them. However, if the only child in the group is under five, you'll need to purchase a discounted child ticket to qualify for the adult Railcard discount. All child fares are subject to a £1 minimum fare.

There are plenty of Cardholder Offers once your card arrives, but one of the most enjoyable for the Family is 2 for1 London

2for1 London not only has top London attractions to offer, but also Theatre, Exhibitions and Restaurants too!

Just to let you all know, it's seems you are only eligable for the 50% off if you signed up for the free trial!

As i've just tried to use the code and got "Thank you for applying for a Family & Friends Railcard. Unfortunately our system has not matched your data to our Trial Card Promotion."
