Where can I buy organic eggs cheaply?

Hi, One thing I will not compromise on is eggs, but I am so tired of what they cost in supermarkets, does anyone have any suggestions as to where I might buy them more cheaply?

Have you looked in Lidl? I think their free-range organic are about £1.29 for 6. The free-range are 99p so cheaper than almost anywhere else.

OUr Morrisons have them on offer this week, they have some for about
90p for 6. They are a decent size with golden yolks :)

Ooh lovely, can't you just tell by the yolks what's natural and what is not....

My local corner shop sells free range organic eggs cheaper than anywhere else locally, even cheaper than the supplier when he turns up at the local farmer's market.

Maybe there is a local outlet for quality eggs near you?

Be aware that eggs from farm gate sales might seem natural but don't have to be organic. My chickens for example are free range...very freerange, as adults (I have babies in coops to protect them from predators) and people rave about them, but I have to remind people often that my eggs are not organic: they sometimes get organic feed, often not, depending on what of the high quality feeds is on offer when I order. They also receive treatment for worms etc.

Do you get a farmers market near you? Could possibly get them from there but I wouldn't know how much they'd cost.

I used to get my eggs from the supermarket and would pay more than £3 for 12 large free range, I then realised how much cheaper they were at my local indoor market, £1.50 for 12 large free range. :)

I buy free range for cooking, baking etc., and organic free range for eating IYSWIM, Lidl's are a good price and very nice quality. IIRC £1.49 for 6 organic and 99p for free range?
