Sainsbury's misprice

I don't know if it is just me, but as Sainsburys is near where I work, I often pop in there at lunchtime. They are so bad at actually having the bogoffs up to date on the scanner. I have had to argue on several occasions about the price not being what is being scanned. I bought some johnson & johnson baby stuff that was advertised as get one get one free and it came up on the till as full price for both. The manager said they would honour it....but it was there on the shelf...They make me so annoyed. How many other people have been been fooled by this and paid the full whack.

I came away vowing that I would never shop in there, plus the fact that they are happy to sell bread at full price that is going out of date the same day.
Oh....I'm not going to lie to you......At the end of the day, when alls said and done......do you know what I mean.........TIDY

Could be just your store? There's a sainsbury's about 3 mins walk from here, and never had a problem with them, never been overcharged.

I guess the sensible thing to say is to check your receipts at all supermarkets. Personally I've never had any misprices at Sainsbury's, but I don't shop there that often any more...

    I agree ooobedoo.

I've had problems with sainsbury's before with BOGOFs and feel sure when this is pointed out they will honour the deal but will be slow (if at all) in rectifying it so that umpteen others with will charged full whack.

At least with Tesco's you would get the products free on a misprice, which means at least they might act a bit sooner as it actually costs them money.

As rambler says ALWAYS check your reciept.

I always check my Sainsbury's till receipts and the BOGOF offers are often not picked up. Quite often you find the offer only applies to buying 2 products that are exactly the same, even though the display ticket seems to infer any 2 within the same price range. At the moment this applies to Del Monte ice lollies - the Smoothie lollies would seem to be included, but aren't.
I would estimate about 1 bill in 4 is incorrect on my large weekly shop - the only reason I shop there is that my son has staff discount!
"Cheap", "Fast", "Right" -- pick two.

Sainsbury's always make mistakes where I am too. You then have to que always loads of people in front of you, just to be charged correctly.

Nothing given to compensate for their error or my time having to get it corrected.

My Sainsbury's used to be terrible for that but noticed recently it has improved. I used to call local trading standards, wouldn't mind but no sorry just the usual oh it's computer error.

  • Had the same problem at local Sainsburys. Always reluctant to honour offer or come up with excuses, for example the offer's now ended so we have no reference to what you should have paid or they say that the bogof offer applies to buying 2 identical items, not 2 items in the same range.
