Seeing things you didn't win on ebay :(

I sold a prize once, but only because it was a runner up prize that I would never have used (I was aiming for the biggie of course
)
I don't enter any that I don't qualify for, kiddies comps etc, or any that have specific prizes such as gluten free products, I leave those to the people that really need them. In short, I don't have a problem with people selling wins on EBay.Luck is believing you’re lucky – Tennessee Williams

I don't have a problem with people selling their prizes providing they aren't from kids comps (unless they are planning to give the proceeds to a child). I don't sell my prizes but I would if I needed the cash for something. Thanks to everyone who posts comps, I love winning prizes big and small

I won something I didn't want but instead of selling it I sent it to Postpals as I felt bad for winning something that someone else might have wanted.0

I have sold stuff on ebay I've won but I don't go in for things I don't want/can't use. The things I've sold have been runner-up prizes or duplicates.
I don't see a problem with it though, we are broke so it all helps!0 -
I enter comps with the sole aim of selling the prizes on Ebay, unless it is something we really want or need - or cash.
In the past these prizes have paid for our annual holiday. We only usually go to my sister-in-law's caravan in Norfolk but we love it. Without comps and ebay we couldn't have that.
My OH was made redundant over a year ago. We've really struggled on my part-time wages but selling prizes has helped a lot.
Please don't judge people. Everyone has the right to enter the comps and choose to do whatever they wish with the prizes. I put in the hours (and hours and hours).
I don't enter comps for holidays abroad because we couldn't afford passports let alone spending money!
As for Ebay, the stuff I've sold never makes the RRP and people usually get a great bargain. If you see something on there you wished you'd won, you can always pick up a bargain and buy it.

I dont care about selling wins from competitions, but I do have a problem with adults entering childrens competitions to sell. I think thats bordering on cruel如果是,黑鳥嗎?我知道他在哪裡呢?他說沃澤爾可達樹後,他和我0

Been really interesting hearing from people who enter comps to sell prizes. Have to say, it's really made me think. I'm in a fortunate situation really and sometimes it's hard remembering people literally live hand to mouth (I'm hardly rolling in it, but we don't exactly go without).
Well, whatever you do with your winnings, good luck everyoneI'll certainly think twice next time someone says they're selling their prize. If it puts food on people's tables, or allows them a holiday, fair dos.
Thanks to all those who've commented. You've really helped me see it from the other side. Know I didn't start the thread, but do feel I've gained something from it.

I think if you win it, you can do with it as you please.
And I also think, as it has been hinted at, that it is the responsibility of promotors to ensure that children's comps are won by children! Put an entry form in the mag, demand to see a birth certificate in the entry name... a little extra work is all it takes!
I have enetered plenty of comps for my daughter and never once has anyone actually wanted proof she even exists...Best wins: Luxury weekend in Russia, family holiday to France, catered BBQ for 20, Selfridges shopping spree, jolly to Majorca, £1,000 See Tickets vouchers, £500 John Lewis vouchers, five-star weekend in Provence!

That's bad, it leaves it open to abuse, I didn't realise that.Luck is believing you’re lucky – Tennessee Williams

Do you know I enter Kids comps all the time for my three aged 4,5 and 13 and you are quite right, never have I been asked to prove that they are actually children!
its the same with the drinks ones - they ask you to confirm your date of birth - do they ever check it after you win to make sure you are 18?
Great thread BTW - nice to see how other people think :T0
