i dont see anything wrong with selling wins on ebay and to be honest ive sold loads of stuff that i have won on there, at the end of the day if people put the hours in and are lucky enough to win then good on them, all money i have earned out if this has been payed on debts or put towards things that my family needs, im sure im not the only one who does this;)

My plan when I started comping was to save money - whichever way I could - either by using prizes as gifts or to save me money somewhere else along the lines. I would consider selling on ebay - never have - if the item I won was something I couldn't find a home for - that said, I only enter comps for things I can use. I NEVER enter for something just because........

I don't have an issue with selling prizes if it means you are saving money elsewhere as this has come about from a money saving forum (IYKWIM).

I've not sold any of my prizes, but would have no problem whatsoever doing so. There's no rules to say you can't sell on an electronic good for example, and if you need the cash, then what's the issue? Anyhow, whoever buys the item is getting a good deal anyway with a brand new item for less than the actual shop sale price.

i think that it is totally up to the individual what they do with things which they have won.Nobody knows another persons circumstances and i dont think that they should be judged.

I don't see a problem with selling items. I have sold some DVDs and CDs on amazon/ebay, either because they were runner up prizes for something big or because i watched the DVD once and didn't feel the need to keep it after that. It helps me to save up for things i actually need. At the end of the day, if you're selling an item and it's going to someone who is going to make more use out of it than you are then surely that's a good thing?

As others have said, everyone has a fair chance of winning and whatever you do with the prize is totally up to you. I personally only enter things i would like to win, and yes very occasionally i enter something thinking 'if i won it, i could sell it' i.e. designer handbag/clothing, electrical goods etc

I enter competitions most of the time for things that I or we could use in our home or to give for gifts etc. If it was to win say a car then I'm sure more members would sell the car to raise extra cash than keep it?

I dont think there is anything wrong with selling wins (dont shoot me) i personally only enter for things i want to win but i have sold a couple of things on ebay because of either they are not as good as what i thought they would be,i didnt use it when i thought i would or the more common reason with me is i needed the money i know people will disaprove of this but some times things crop up and selling wins helps out when things are tough

    ps

dont be cross with me i have only ever sold 2 things on ebay that were wins:o

I quite agree with you, as we all put the time in to enter the comps and if are lucky enough to win, then what we do with it is up to us. We are all on this website because we need help with moneysaving and Ebay is a good way of making a small amount of cash.

Following on from what I was saying earlier, I was thinking... I suppose selling stuff on is no worse than us lot all entering comps which limits the chances of 'Joe Public' winning. Some people think it's almost like we're cheating that we enter so many comps (especially as most of the answers are provided too). 'Compers' are even sometimes banned from entering some competitions.

Suppose none of us can judge really, seeing as we're actually frowned upon by some other non-compers! If some sell, some sell. Others keep winnings. Others think we don't deserve to win even if we do keep our prizes...

Each to their own and all that... :D

    Happy comping, peeps :D
