How does one refresh 'fresh bread'?

Hi again everyone.
Thanks for all the suggestions about how to make the perfect jacket pot yesterday - I will deviate from my normal method, and let you know what I think.
I hope you don't mind me asking you guys again, but I was hoping for another little tip....
I have some fresh bread, brought from the bakery am and now going away for the weekend - how would you 'freshen up' the bread when you get back.
I thought I would store it in the bread bin and then just pop it in the oven for 5 mins when I get back...will that be ok, or will I be hardening an existing hard loaf??

I'd pop it in the fridge in a plastic bag then once you're back from your weekend away dampen the crust with some water and bung it in a hot oven for five minutes.0

I'd slice and freeze it before going.0

We don't 'do' slices, we prefer to tear chunks off it, with butter - yes we are 'refrained animals':D0 -

LOL, fresh I'd feel the same, I just think prep ahead is better than refreshed bread, (and fresh bread is best, but a rare treat for me)so a frozen loaf becomes a sandwich loaf or a toast loaf for us..
I don't each much bread, so its handy for me to have something I can pull out of the freezer. It seems to me it freezes better sliced, (and is easier for small portions) but I have had, thawed and served defrosted ''special'' loafs. 0 -
