Help requarding CCJ's

Hi, my partner got a ccj in december 2000 but has been paying the money to a recovery company and is due to make the final payment in october. Could someone explain to me what happens then. Does it go away after so many years or will it stay on record forever and we have to apply to get it satisfied.

thanks for your help

  • Once it is fully paid you can apply to the court have it mark as satisfied, however in this case the entry on your credit file will expire this December anyway.
 It’s hard enough remembering my opinions - without remembering my reasons for them

Thanks, thats what i thought. As my partner has never been able to get so much as a debit card due to this ccj, once december comes, this should become possible?

It may be possible, but try to get him not to get another credit card and fall down the same path again...
