Whereas, I was never a Labour activist, and I was less than euphoric at the 1997 GE outcome... I can smell BS a hundred yards away.
I'm smelling BS.
I don't trust 'em.
People like me were euphoric because Labour had finally and comprehensively proved it was re-electable. You, who were out there shoving literature through letter boxes and sticking up posters -- oh, oops, sorry: you weren't? -- presumably thought Michael Foot should still have been party leader.
Fair enough. Your decision.
Though presumably it will have been better informed than the decision to post here as yet another smug conspiracy theorist of such awesome, though self-proclaimed, olfactory powers.0 -

What I saw today was two relatively young guys who have rocketed in my estimation, individuals who have somehow led their parties into an alliance that will be tested by time -- but will not, at its outset, lose its freshness to the oh-so world-weary cynics on their predictable know-all ego trips.
are you DC's mum or are you NC's mum?0 -

That wasn't a defence now was it.......and we don't defend parliment..only the Queen and the Country.
Its just an eye opener to watch people make decisions on something they know nothing about or have ever seen.

The last ones who tried that were well tonked 'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0
