Hi, quick advice needed please. I've just put my pizza dough in the breadmaker and it's been happily whirring away for 20 minutes. Unfortunately I've just realised I've forgotten to put the yeast in
. I've paused it but I'm not sure I can put the yeast in now and still get nice pizza dough. Have I wasted my ingredients and need to start again or can I add it now?
It wouldn't be so bad but I made a loaf the other day that was like a brick as I forgot the yeast then as well . I can only blame it on being week 4 of the school holidays and it's definitely NOT my age
.
Thanks in advance.

You could try a sticky label on the side labelled "yeast?" I do thins with things I regularly forget. Don't know what to suggest about the pizza dough though, sorryOfficial DFW Nerd no. 082! :cool:Debt @ 01/01/2014 £16,956 Debt now: £0.00 :j

Think I will have to try this. I've been making bread for months and never forgotten the yeast before, must be having a bad week! I have forgotten the paddle a couple of times though!:smileyhea0

I'd be tempted to chuck the yeast in and start the cycle from scratch. Better than wasting the ingredients. But only if you have time to do another batch if things go pear shaped.I have forgotten the paddle a couple of times
My paddle lives in the pan. So I can't forget it. After everything is cleaned the paddle goes back into its place ready for the next time its needed.Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move

My dough cycle is 1 hour 40 mins and I am always forgetting ingredients  it'll be fine to add now if its only 20 mins in HTH0

Well I added the yeast 20 minutes in and added a little bit of warm water then started the cycle again.
The dough was huge :j so it worked.
Thanks for the help.:smileyhea0 -
Last week, I was hurriedly trying to get a loaf together while the kids were arguing (they started the moment they broke up from school, and haven't stopped since), as my OH was in a rush to get out of the door and I wanted to cadge a lift from him.
I removed the pan from the Panasonic, and put in my yeast. I then put in the flour and was about to start on the next ingredient when I realised that I'd put the yeast in the BM pan, and the flour in... the pan-less BM. Eek. I turned the machine up-side down and tried to tip the flour into the pan, but the machine was too heavy for me to lift high enough, so I stood on a chair to get the required height, but a good bit of the flour remained in the machine.
Obviously used to my, erm... effortless levels of OS competency, my OH didn't bat an eyelid at the sight of me standing on a chair and holding an upturned BM over the counter, simply asking 'Do you still want a lift?'
'I've just got to hoover out the bread maker'
'Oh. OK...'
Dozy? What, me?I'd definately put it down to it being week 4 of the summer holidays. Only another fortnight to go before we all get parole
Eek! Someone's stolen my signature! :eek:0 -
lol :rotfl:
At least it's not just me. Don't feel so daft now!:smileyhea0
