Only me again ....

Does anyone know the time limit for Pension Credit to be sorted out? claim was put in on the phone mid feb ( i think ) they received all of our documentation by the 8th of March ( had letter to confirm this) dont know what else to do, as last time we phoned 2 weeks ago, they said it was being looked into....... also can they tell us that a private pension that OH pays into has to be cashed in early? ( apparently he pays into one and put off claiming it when he reached 60 and wanted it from the age of 65, when his army pension stops) nothing seems to be going very easily when it comes to Pension Credits  OH's JSA (c based) will be ending on the 10th of June and we dont want to go through the whole rigmarol again......

if your OH has access to a pension at 60 and is choosing not to claim then he can be classed as depriving himself of an income and the assessment will still include that amount as income., he does not have to claim it, but you have to live with out the income. as for the length of time, it depends on individual centres how busy they are, the main problem might be that he is claiming JSA (C) and the two systems conflict with each other, so he would have to be paid off line for a while, until the JSA stops, so that has to go to the specailist section to deal with, and if he is not claiming an income then they need information from the company about that, to know how much income to take into account.
