Payplan - payments clearning and bank holidays

Anyone know why it still takes 3-5 days for payments to clear with payplan and longer when there's a bank holiday. I thought since direct payments came in they went through on the same day. I registered to pay my council tax on-line recently and they sent me a pdf of a bill, showing my first month's payment on the account the day it left my bank account (the bill was dated the following day). Is it different with standing orders - anyone with CCCS notice that payments clear faster.

    Hi

My SO payments to CCCS usually show in my account two days after they have been sent.

Maybe that's why this site have stopped recommending payplan - I've incurred a few late payment fees in the past because of this.

i have had no end of problems with this. My payplan payment goes out of my account of the second & due to the bank holiday last month it registered with my creditors on the 13th!! i got numerous late payment fees & payplan didnt seem to concerned. Of course its just happened again so we will see what happens. I would keep phoning them & checking as i find just a bank to be as unreliable. We are actually planning to 'go it alone' after a year with payplan as im not finding the the best tbh xx

It's now over a week since my payment left my account and they *still* haven't distributed the payment to my creditors. Is this grounds for reproting them to a financial ombudsman? There are often posts from people asking whether to go with them or CCCS and I'd definitely recommend CCCS based on this experience. I'm going to send the final payments to my creditors myself at the end of this month as I'm fed up with them messing me around like this.

Actually, I have this prob with them, always getting late payment letters from creditors, and Payplan say it is clearing. And not that it matters one little bit, why are all the people at payplan, lation sounding names, are they actually in UK?

They're in the UK - I checked previous payment schedules and it was after a bank holiday weekend that Lloyds TSB started to recharge interest - presumably because I'd broken the terms of the arrangement to pay by paying late. This means they've cost me over £700 in interest when they're supposed to be helping with debts! I've now cancelled my standing order and will use a cheque book for the first time in years to send through my final payments direct to my creditors.
