Come on then, recreational reasons - bloody stupid to get a loan for what ever the hell that means????????????

What reacreational reasons justify getting into debt ?

Not it isn't if you have a good salary and live well within your means.

Every year for a long time now i have put a £4-5K holiday on a 0% card. Then i have paid it off within 3-4 months upon returning.

I get goods points for the cards usually so make some money back.
I get the protection that a CC booking gives me.
If i lost my job for any reason, my savings would more than cover it.

To make blanket statements such as the one you did is pretty foolish.

You put it on a card not on a loan big difference. 0% fine and paid off quickly fine.

Foolish to pay for something that lasts a couple of weeks over years.

The OP already has defaults on their record. Makes far more sense to save (especially at the rate they currently are) than get into debt.

Reacreational reasons is pretty vague and yes your right if your living in your means then no arguement but then why would the OP need the loan ?
