It can be very damaging indeed. If it's due to a dispute make sure you let the credit reference agencies know and if you win the dispute make sure it is removed asap.

Well the reason it wasn;t paid is i had a tennant in there who i couldn't get rid off for 10 months (legallY) who didn;t pay me any money at all, so i had to front the mortgage. As a result other areas suffered sch as ground rent. 18months on and £15,000 later i am still fighting fires from this !!!!!!! I have gone after him via debt recovery, but seeing as he has been in prison before for none payment of fines, i think i have no chance and will have to sort it myself !

That's rough Helli2020, I've had issues with tennants in he past too and it really does suck, sorry to hear of it.

Is it for a lot of money or is it something you can settle quickly? If you settle it within 30days it gets removed from your file.

  • CCJ is the worst thing (other than bankruptcy) that can appear on your credit file.

its about £2000 odd, but the issue i have is i have just settled the MBNA credit card i was using to pay the mortgages off with when i had all these issues. So settled/cleared one thing (£6080) related to this tennant and another appears (as if by magic). I have spoken to the mortgage company and they have said they will pay it and add it onto the balance and increase my monthly payments........nt sure if this is a good thing or not!

means you'll pay interest on it for the term of the loan that it will become secured debt. settling it within 30days if possible will certainly have benefits though.
