Achieved city and guilds qualification but work won't give me certificate

In December I achieved a city and guilds qualification (which admittedly was arranged through work). I have since been dismissed from my job - when I asked about my certificate I was told it may not be issued as I was dismissed. Am I entitled to it - I did the work to get the qualification (studied in my own time etc.) - if work won't issue it can I get it from C&G direct? It is an important qualification for the line of work I am in.

If you passed fiar and square, then you should get the certificate. But if you were dismissed and it prevented you completing some qualifying period, then you have a problem. Can you give more details as to what you had to do and when you completed it and how this relates to your dismissal?Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. It was an intensive week course with an exam at the end which I passed(there was no qualifying period needed for the unit of work which i took). I was told I had passed and achieved that unit of the C&G qualification. My dismissal was unrelated to the course or standard of my work.0

Perhaps there's a cost for the certificate that they don't want to pay if you're not going to be working for them.
Which assessment centre/college did you do the course/qualification through? They should be your first port of call. C and G can do replacement certificates for a fee, but not sure how that applies if you never had the certificate in the first place. Worth contacting them though.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
Funded by your ex-employer? Or did your ex-employer actually conduct the training and the exam? I am assuming the ex-employer is the one withholding your certificate?Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Ex-employer organised an assessor for our whole company to come and deliver course and conduct exam. Yes it is ex-employer with-holding certificate.0

Take the matter up with City and Guilds. I think that they should be interested to know that an employer is withholding one of their certificates.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Why were you dismissed?
