I went to their wedding fayre today and actually quite liked it...Has anyone else spoken to any of the other 'Old English Inn's' about the £999 deal? I totally forgot to ask. DOH!!What's yours is mine and what's mine is mine..0 -
Hi,
I went to an Old English Inn hotel and asked about the £999 deal. It did initially seem quite good if you want just a simple, but nice wedding day (I.e. 3 course meal, drink to toast and DJ) - but the one we looked at didn't include the little extras that other hotels offer - i..e arrival drinks, reception drinks, buffet etc.
For us it worked out cheaper to go with another hotel that did a package for all these things plus more - obviously it was more than £999; but no more than if we had the £999 package plus the extras (if you know what I mean!! lol).
That said; I think these £999 deals vary depending on your location; I've heard some include more than others - good luck!

I was having trouble finding a venue too because our budget is very small, about £4,000 for everything. We went to see all the local hotels etc and they too were all nasty, time warp style places. Even went to one of the £999 places and were soooo disappointed. So we cut our numbers down from 60/120 to 40/80 and have picked the newly built Ramada hotel on the front in Southport and it is lush! I can't tell you how lovely it is, the food is amazing, our bridal suite is gorgeous and we booked just in time to avoid the £500 room charge they were introducing.
Would sacaling down be an option?:jGetting married 17th July 2010 woohoo :j0 -

Lol, We're having the same amount of people as you have just scaled down to so not really that many. It's not the price factor really, just the fact that north devon hotels are stuck in the 60's or a gigantic over the top manor house and think hmmmm £6k for this house then you can buy all the extras. What's yours is mine and what's mine is mine..0
