yeah, but the petrol to go and buy tree.....it all adds up. :( I'm feeling a bit gloomy now. I think I'm going to ask Hamish to find me a property....I believe I might be happier/less concerned about all things glum if I owned.

The growth of the tree over a lifetime will surpass the petrol. Be safe - plant 5 if you have to drive!

Regarding part 2 of your post, will you name it after the real me, or the pixel me?

    Loads of people I know think I'm a c o c k already!:D

Part 1 sounds like something out of Hannibal.

I don't think I am different in RL, apart from being a lot shy-er. If there was ever one of these fabled mse meets I'd sit in the corner quietly. On here I can be a great keyboard warrior! My frineds etc are more willing to tell me to shut up etc!:D

But you can't beat being 90 and saying we are done for. I do feel (which I know I should not) that the guy is near the end of his stay and is now going, "see y'a enjoy the mess" :)

And he won't be around to either find out or take the flak when he's wrong. ;)

At the age of 90, Prof Lovelock is resigned to his own fate and the fate of the planet. Whether the planet saves itself or not, he argues, all we can do is to "enjoy life while you can".

.....and so says the sooth sayer...it's a bit like an ambiguous horoscope...all vague and a bit soundbitey.

    Good advice I think...90, will I get to 90?

    What have I told you?..........

This is not a "recession" or a "blip"
We are at a major turning point in human history. On a par with the industrtial revolution.

Our "growth" and "prosperity" over the last 100 years is all down to cheap oil.
Our "growth" and "prosperity" over the last 10 years is down to funny money based on cheap oil.

The cheap oil and the funny money is gone and now it's just a fight for resources.
We are witnessing the end game being played out.

Liars and thieves V mother nature.
