...and thought it was about time I said hi. Hi!
Have done alot of reading since joining up here a few weeks ago and firstly would like to say how inspired I've been following some of your stories, you are all doing amazingly and the level of support and understanding you offer each other quite frankly amazes me given the size of the forum. So hats off to the lot of you!
Right, getting to the reason I'm here now. :embarasse Compared to alot of you my debts look tiny so I certainly have no reason to moan but having to wipe out the kids savings last month to apease the tax man has hit me like a ton of bricks! My husband has a very good salary but money has been very tight since we bought our home last September and now Inland Revenue have decided we owe them a huge amount so things look set to get alot worse. We've always paid all our bills on time and don't have any luxuries so its come as a bit of shock to realise that with the mortgage, 2 personal loans, the credit card and now Inland Revenue we owe around £150,000!!!! If I take the mortgage out (although obviously it counts as debt) that is around £8,500. So yeah, I just wanted to join to say hello and that I'll be around on here and the 'Old Style' boards trying to find some ways to save money!:o

Hi Kelinik & welcome :hello:
Good luck with the moneysaving too :j0 -
Hi, thank you all for replying!
OK I'll be honest I feel a bit uncomfortable about the whole SOA thing just now. It was instilled into me growing up that finances are a very private matter and I never disclose hubbies salary or stuff like that to anyone, let alone strangers on a public forum. Sorry if that seems odd in a place like this, I'm not trying to be rude honestly and I'm not an unfriendly person, I'll happily share stuff you'd probably rather not know lol, just not my personal finances at the mo. I realise that means you guys won't be able to offer that much in the way of advice which is fine as I'm learning a lot from all the other threads and just wanted to say hello really and that its nice to be here.:heart2: Mumma to DD 13yrs, DD 11yrs & DS 3 yrs. :heart2:0 -
Hey Kelinik,
Welcome! Don't be silly about your debts seeming small, mine are even smaller when I take out student loan, but it doesn't matter how far they are, if your over spending and going into debt the quicker you realise and deal with the debts the better!
Don't worry about not posting SOA, you'll get all the support you need here regardless
