Hi Sammy,
Is it just your OH going BR?
If so, you take out anything that it just yours, so your mobile, travel etc.,
Is the travel expenses the same every month, or dependent on if/when he travels? Same for shift allownce, is this guaranteed and the same every month?
You need to put something down for all his car expenses, so pertrol, insurance, breakdown. maintenance etc.. This will probably then cancel out most of the travel allowance he gets.
I'm not sure on the DLA for your son, but as the money is for him, not the household or OH I'm not sure whether you have to include it.
Anyhow, you need to reduce the contributuon to your OH's SoA shown under benefits to cover your own outgoings, so as the carers allowance is yours, not OH's or the households, again I not sure that you have to include it. CTC and CB are defo included though.

Hi there and welcome.
I would up groceries to £600 and clothes to £150 ( our Or accepted £150 for a family of four). We were also allowed £80 for a family of four towards a holiday. Peachy is spot on with the rest. Good luck.

Hi there,
I am sure others will be able to help out with what to put down for hubbys side of things, but I have just come back from my face to face meeting with the OR and he did not query any of the amounts I had put down.
I had £580 for groceries, £40 for activities for older child, £80 for holiday, I also put down £20 for optician and prescriptions for both me and children, school dinners I put £45, travel by bus etc £20.
They accepted these amounts just fine, so I would cancel out the ones pointed out and add onto others to balance it all out.
I did not put down the full amount of hubbys wages, nor did I include his overtime etc as this was not a regular amount, I just put down the amount he could cover and showed this as being paid out on the rent and usual bills etc, as my money would just contribute towards the food etc.
I also upped my clothing to £180 and thi was accepted as this included school uniforms and baby clothes etc.
Hope that helps a bit, and welcome, you will feel alot more reassured by posting on here, I certainly did, and now the process is over, it is very true what everyone says on here, it is not easy, you will beat yourself up, but the court and Or are nice people, so try not to get into such a state, I did and now I wonder why !!!
Feel free to post, and I am sure others will also help you out on your SOA. x0 -

Yes just DH going BR. When you say take things out that are mine, I have included my Carer's allowance in the incoming's, which will have to pay for topping up my phone, paying my catalogue and paying the overdraft back to HSBC (was the only joint debt we had) so how does this work, can I exclude my allowance on the forms, to cover these costs? I don't really contribute to the groceries etc, as been saving a little of the carer's so I have some behind me, to pay the debts I have.
Travel expenses not guranteed every month, and neither is shift allowance, as far as I am aware.Hi there and welcome.

Does the OR want to know when your hubby does overtime or anything, or do they have no interest in it? 0 -
I was not asked a thing about how much hubby earnt, did not have to provide any proof, not asked about any over time etc, so I just put on my SOA a reasonable amount to show that the bills will be covered etc, and just told the OR that hubby pays for everything on the form and that I give as much as I can, when I can towards things etc

Thank you peachy

Yes, you're allowed your own money for your own debts and living expenses and this amount should be deducted from your carers allownace, as it's yours, not your OH's or the household you don't include all of it in the income.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
Thank you
