then you send a pm to ppd with the comp to let her know a new one has been added for the monthly thread so she can link it from her first post page,


that's what i did with them all anyway, & ppd did send me pm back thanking me & updated her 1st page

actually the only link ppd needs is the link to this post. no sense in asking her to undertake all the extra work of changing a link everym month when the post on main is supposed to link to this post only and not include a link direct to the comp site nor any other details. the idea is that people then come to this thread to see the details and use the link in this thread to enter.

the post on mian is only as a marker to show that there is a comp that might be interesting but that people will miss if they dont bother to look over here or use the stickies

if you look at how amilucky has done it in his sample posts and follow that exactly you wont go wrong

and really it was only (as i understood it) intended for those comps that have caused or might cause complaints when they have been merged...rather than those that have been in here as ongoing threads for ages...such as the sony erricson one which was being updated in a thread in here and also duped a lot of the time on main as well, each dupe meant more merges for bgs to do and more complaints that people were missing it because it "was hidden away in regs"

by posting links to the relevant thread on main people are being pointed to the comp they would otherwise miss
