hi all,
just thought i would ask for any advice about my bank.
wife telephoned and explained that we had entered a dmp to commence on 19/02/10 and asked if they could block payment of 3 payday loans
wonga 300
payday express 600
wageday advance 390
explained that i had cancelled bank card and removed my name from access to our joint acc.(wife in control of this now).these three payments are due on 19/02 when my salary is paid (£1600) and we would be left with virtually nothing as dmp is £308 bank stated that as i had authorised payment with my card then there is nothing they can do to when payment is requested.
spoke to these companies and they all said they will request full payment when due and as i dont have a bank card they will not enter into any extension etc.
so i guess it looks like i have shot myself in the foot.
dmp administrator says these companies are notorious for this.
so it appears that even though i am am trying to mend my ways there will be many more hurdles.
in hindsight i should probaly have changed bank acc but too late now for my salary to be changed

Is your salary still being paid into this account?
Could you ask your employer to pay you by cheque this month? They may not actually do the processing of bank payments until 2days before the money hits this account so could be some scope to request it as a one off.
You may be able to look to use your 'first right of appropriation' to ensure some of your salary is available for priority costs, rent ctax etc - you may need to do some research on this as I'm not totally certain of the rights it gives you.
Hope you sort something out.
Are you arranging to set up a new basic bank account now as part of the dmp?A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
How are these payments being made?
DD? -> cancel the DD
Cheque? -> cancel the cheque
Debit/Credit card details? -> cancel the card

JUST SEEMS AS THOUGH WE ARENT GOING TO GET ANYWHERE AND I KNOW THE MESS I AM IN IS MY FAULT AND I WANT TO PAY WHAT I OWE, BUT I DONT THINK THESE PEOPLE GIVE A "TOSS".:o
THE PAYMENTS ARE AUTHORISED BY BANK CARD BUT BANK SAY THEY WILL STILL BE HONOURING THEM EVEN THOUGH CARD ETC IS CANCELLED AND MY NAME IS REMOVED FROM THE ACCOUNT0
