Thought I'd share this

On Saturday I went dress shopping, found a lovely dress, and it's the only dress I haven't tried that I had nothing bad to say about the dress, and to be honest I think it's the dress for me, however I'm off on holiday in a few weeks so have decided I will go and try it on again after I get back and make my decision. Just to be sure.

The main thing putting me off was the price £899 for one day, to me, its a lot of money.

So over the last few days I've searched and searched and couldn't find the dress anywhere else or at any cheaper. So I decide to email the shop I tried it on at, not making any link that I'd been in a tried it on, I simply asked how much they sold the dress for....

My response from the shop owner.... if you'd like to purchase the dress from us £675!!!

So I cheeky emailed back asking if this was that maximum lower price and the woman said the RRP was £820 and therefore £675 was the lowest!!

That's a 25% discount from the shop price!!!!

Is it me or is that completely madness!!!

  • I think the worst one I found when I was looking is a RRP £999 dress sold with a price tag of £1700 when I found someone who would have sold it to me for £850 with hoop hire and veil! That was a rip off bridal shop! Always worry when a shop doesn't tell you the designer of their dresses.

I tried to haggle with my dress maker but as she makes the dresses herself she said that was the price and it wouldn't change for anyone. I have to respect she was upfront and I like that her prices are the same for everyone.

Wedding = madness. Always try to negotiate or haggle. Ok, we couldn't get anything much off our photographer or venue (peak saturday) but we really haggled with the cake and rings and saved over £1000.
