Weekly food shop £54, this isn't that great, have to say didn't really buy anything that naughty, definitely seeing the prices of a few things going up. The main thing was we normally sort of have a few dinners already and its more of a top up but this time we needed things from scratch. Also I did a bit of cleaning today and got to the end of all of the cleaning products so needed a load of them.
We have had our new gas electric prices through, now will be £61 a month instead of £55 but much better than £77 had we not switched. Looks like we might be in credit too
Have been doing some internet wish list shopping for my daughter for birthday/ xmas, ooooh the vouchers just don't come quick enough.
My husband is doing great with pricing the extension, he keeps thinking of new ways to do it for cheaper, initially the money my nan gave us wasn't going to cover it but it looks like we might have some over now
Not been feeling too good again, but next week is a new week and hoping it goes quick! have a week off coming upMortgage November 2003 was £135k, but thanks to this website on 28/08/12 we became MORTGAGE FREE!

My gas/elec has gone from £58 to £70. I was tempted to move but I owe them £85 I think so will prob switch before xmas.
Its great gettbing vouchers isnt it but I havent done any surveys lately so must get back into them but I just dont have any time lately.
I wish we could do an extenstion here but then I still keep looking to move back home so never really sure about doing anything else here.

15 months WOW!!!! Thats fab you must be so pleased!
Hope things at work and how you feel start looking on the up soon - sounds like you are so near the end at least you can say that things would be so different for you by next xmas!0 -
yeah agreed pammy the last thing, you need when trying to save money is an extra gas electric bill. I have definitely found that the surveys are drying up I think its just coincidence that I got a few vouchers in a row. Onepoll is much worse than it used to be, mostly prize draws now...
Sometimes I think you are just better to move than do an extension. My husband is in the building industry and so has lots of contacts and his dad is a carpenter so he has trade accounts and he can do the roof etc. Its such a tiny extension that although it gives us an extra room we do have to make our two biggest rooms smaller. I think our house is probably worth £235k without the extension probably £300k if that with. Our house is quite nicely decorated so if it was finished it might get maybe £260-270 but its not sellable atm as certain rooms are a mess i.e. the cat room and the hall where the dogs go, but we've done a lot to the bathroom (moved hot water tank into loft and made it bigger and have a double shower rather than a shower in the bath which makes it better. I can live with small rooms as long as they are well designed and have storage to reduce clutter, which I think they will be. I'm sure in the end our extension will have cost about 30k (so far about 9k I think) but I think if u just employed a builder it would be about £70k and we wouldn't benefit hugely, but I guess it depends on the individual house? Hopefully because the animals will be downstairs the house will generally be more sellable and easier to keep clean. If we just moved to a 'perfect 4 bedroom house' that would probably cost us a £100k in mortgage in our area which seems silly for us, but as I like decorating undoubtedly I would change it anyway, plus so much of our house has been designed with animals in mind i.e. tiled floor etc and we would have to alter things if we moved at the new house undoubtedly. Really if we move we need renovation project, I used to dream of this but I 've really put these dreams aside for now... I hope your perfect house comes along
TYO, I know so near but yet so far!! 15 months sounds so tiny but I am finding it hard. I have had a meltdown today and did on friday (had to stay late at work and I don't get paid I think this started it) and so will be going to the docs today. Sometimes I get annoyed that I can't just count my blessings and get on with it but its easier said than done. My dad really shouted at me today and told me to leave, I wish I could keep it together even if was just in front of other people but I'm very open and it all comes out. I always do this, I set myself tough goals and wish my life away promising myself better stuff at the end of it, I hope I can make it happen this time. The worst thing is I think if I just quit now and earn nothing I'd feel worthless and in two years times I'd be punishing myself for not seeing it through. Your right next xmas will be better plus they have ok-ed my xmas holiday this year so I really can look forward to the next few months. I have a week off in 3 weeks so I can become human again!! Anyway I guess I need to do whats necessary to get to my week off and have a good think in a relaxed rather than stressed out mind.
I have missed my amazon parcel today so will have to go into town to retrieve it tomorrow now grrr.Mortgage November 2003 was £135k, but thanks to this website on 28/08/12 we became MORTGAGE FREE!

Jo, you sound as though it's all getting you down. I'm so sorry. Sometimes life is overwhelming, and there's wisdom in knowing when to soldier on and when to stop and admit that things have become unsustainable. Those of us (and I'm that way too) who are open and let stuff out may look at first as though we aren't as strong as the silent types, but actually we survive better. Hope the doc is helpful, and do try not to take what your dad shouted personally (hard, I know). I don't know what the situation was, but it's very likely his problem, not yours, that he was so unpleasant to you.
Hugs,
