How do I make breadcrumbs without using a food processor?

Grate the bread0

Or scrape the old dry bread (has to be pretty stale - it is very hard to do to fresh bread) with a fork if you don't have a grater to hand. Doesn't do a great job, but is good enough at a squeeze.0

Let the bread dry out and rub between your hands.

I've tried using a grater but I end up with a doughy mess  Perhaps the fork method would work better.0

Its the way I still make breadcrumbs for my homemade stuffing. This way I can have coarse and fine breadcrumbs.£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4

Yes.
This method works better with stale bread so let it dry out in the bowl before you start.£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4

I obviously need to let the bread dry out first, whichever method. That's where I've been going wrong I think. Thanks to all for the replies0
