Mortgage for over 60's

I am in a tied cottage and will retire later this year when I am 60. My first thought was to rent, however I would prefer the security of owning my own house. I can afford a monthy rent of up to £650, so my question is can I get a mortgage and what sort of mortgage could I expect based on this monthly figure. I have no dependants and so will not be looking to leave any estate on my death to anyone. I have searched the internet but can only seem to come up with equity release type of schemes, but as I have not got a house in the first place, feel this is not what I want or is it? Would appreciate some good advice on this, before I approach a broker. Thank you !

Some lenders can consider long terms for older clients. Halifax did one to age 99 for me.
Lenders will lend something like 4 x your pension income and some take state pension into account also.
Other possible lenders - Platform, Accord, Nationwide (75), Standard Life Bank.0 -
Thank you for that, my problem is my pension is very small, as agriculture does not 'do' pensions and until 10 years ago I was married and thought it would last for ever. But I do have a pot of money about 100,000.00 to live off which at the moment is in various safe investments, what I would like to do is to use some of this, say 50% towards a house which the lender could have 100% of when I die. Does anything like this exist?0
