Cheap Fire Kindler wood

With the days having gone of finding wooden orange boxes thrown out by green grocers and supermarkets, whilst we get logs delivered by the load quite cheaply kindlers to start the fires off are a different matter.

We never seem to have softwood logs or logs dry enough to start the fires off so for a while we were buying bags at a rather expensive £3.49 a time. Then it occurred to me that the shop we get the bags of kindlers from do a similar sized bag of very dry softwood logs for £3.99.

We now buy one bag of softwood logs and chop them up makes 5 bags of kindlers!!!!!!!!!! Quite a saving.:j

Hope this posting might help a few similar souls who also have to buy kindlers from time to time.

  • I thankfully never buy it, because when I walk the dog I take a bag and collect some twigs; and the big tree in the yard is always dropping twigs for us, or we chop up a few logs from our log supply :)
