    last night we did a 'freezer count' and ive worked out about 8-9 meals for the next week and a half, and have done an on-line shop at asda-with free delivery and have stocked up so i'm hoping that although ive almost blown next weeks budget that infact i'll end up infront

    still got £25 left from this weeks budget too

    one thing ive been wondering about is, i'm saving my £2 coins, and this is obviously accounting for some of my budget just vanishing..do i just ignore this or make some sort of allowance for my budget being 'down' for this reason..?
    Budget for Jan/Feb £240 per 4 weeks
    Week 1-£52 :rolleyes: Week 2-£75 :eek:
    Week 3-£60.66 :confused:Week 4-£29.98 Total=£217.58
    w/c 18th Feb: £6.50

    Okay, I'm going to join in. Have done a spreadsheet and average for May/June is £140 for two of us.

    Haven't included petrol as being a supply teacher, my work is too variable.

    Target for July is £120.

    Don't have a pay date as I'm weekly and husband is self employed so am just going by calendar months.

    Spent so far £24.96. Have loads of meals in the freezer (extra portions I froze) so will hopefully last a couple more weeks before I do my "big" shop.

    bit late writing down that im joining this but have got a record of my spends so far... My month is Monday July 3rd - Sunday 30th July.

    Aiming for £70 this month for me and OH.. im moving into his house at the end of the month so might be a few days of takeaways needed as both places will be bedlam!

    So far weve spent:

    £2.60 takeaways
    £2.04 on "treats" sweets/choc/pop

    Went shopping with my mum and she also paid for:

    £3.38 in the greengrocers
    26p in kwik save (2 tins of beans + 2 tins of tomato puree!! bargain or what!!)
    74p on chocolate

    So being cheeky... hehe im not including what mums spent (well cos it hasnt come out of our money im counting them as freebies!!) :rotfl: :rotfl: :p

    So total spend so far: £4.64

    Got a big shop to do tomorrow though..... priced online about £20... BUT i have £5 worth of nectar vouchers to spend.. so probably be about £15 :D

    Am just starting week 3 of my July challenge and have overspent by£15!:eek:
    My defense is that its DS2's birthday and have bought a few treats for him(not £15 worth I expect!) but I will try and redeem myself next week to stick to my target of £50 a week for 4 of us.:rolleyes:

    Well I knew £10 for this month was unrealistic but I've shuffled round some credit cards just to survive until 25th July, and so far I've spent £90 on food which includes longterm items so cupboards and freezers are pretty well stocked. Plus the static £70ish on cat food for the month (but I've moved them all from Whiskas to Felix, saving several pence per tin - we have 7 cats so buy 200 tins a month). Only need to buy milk, bread, apples and ham till the 25th.
    The ability of skinny old ladies to carry huge loads is phenomenal. An ant can carry one hundred times its own weight, but there is no known limit to the lifting power of the average tiny eighty-year-old Spanish peasant grandmother.

    Just done my "big shop" at sainsburys.. first of the month... Priced it online at £17.34...... but when i got to the shop i found there were cheaper options available in store so bill came to less! :D Ended up getting few things not on my list though but not bad i suppose.. only:

    -Upgraded mince from basics to "lean steak": £1.30 dearer but much healthier looking!
    -Soft cheese : 44p
    -Natural yoghurt: 42p
    -Chocolate angel delight : 12p as slight compensation for OH that i wouldnt pay out 92p for chocolate ice cream sauce!:rotfl:

    Total expected bill: £17.34
    Total expected bill + extras: £19.62
    Actual bill: £17.03 :D

    Theeeeeeeeeennnnn i produced my £7.50 worth of nectar card vouchers.....

    Total spend.... £9.53! :j :j :j

    So total so far this month... £14.17:D

    Worked out earlier today that the cat food tends to come to about £60 - £65 a month though :shocked: - they're all on Felix senior and changing that does upset their tummies. We buy it in bulk when it's on offer though.
    Spent £66 already yesterday - and still need to get most of the cat food :think: .

    So to sum up:
    Target= £200
    Spent July 1st= £66

    Balance= £134

    OK bought some more food & cat food which came to £26.28
    Total spend so far = £92.28
    Balance = £107.72 (...it's only the 9th!!! Got a lot in though ...:rolleyes: )
  • I'm up for this after a not too bad June, but could definitely do better. My month runs from 23rd July - 23rd August, and I'm aiming for £120 for 2 adults. I've stocked up on microfibre cloths at Netto as they are 88p each - seemed cheap to me or have I been robbed? lol
    Its nice to be important but more important to be nice!

    I'm back! I totally lost the will to budget for a couple of weeks. I was sticking to £50 per week for 2 adults and 2 toddlers including toileteries, cleaning products and nappies for DD. At first it was easy as I had things in the cupboards to use up but now that the cupboards are bare its harder. I will start again on Wednesday when I do my weekly shop.
    Nevermind the dog, beware of the kids!

    I usually spend £50 a week for 2 adults , one 5 year old and one 2 year old both fussy eaters but slowly changing...LOL.
    I have lots in freezer so hopefully it will just be top ups and fresh fruit from the market.
